Romancing Key West

My soul is from elsewhere, I’m sure of that & I intend to end up there.

We have been to Key West on multiple cruises, seeing this famous Sailor Monument every time.
However, visiting a place as a cruise port is different than staying the night, so here is how we experienced this amazing place.
Its natural beauty was absolutely baffling, we walked into the sunset on its horizon and it was literally like driving through a painting.

Keys are from the Spanish word “Cayo”meaning a small island. Florida Keys is an archipelago (a collection of small islands) between Florida and Mexico. It includes Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Lower Keys and then our fave Key West.  As we drove through the 50 shades of golden sunset, it was almost dinnertime.

I tell you one thing that driving simply through that sunset made the trip worthwhile for us and we simply felt as if we had already achieved the bliss of a fruitful day trip.

I swear I have it all together. I just forgot where I put it.

We drove straight to the town and had dinner first and then strolled around.  With rainbow buildings, interesting architecture and cute street fashions, we had a really fun family walkie talkie time.

We stayed the night at The Sheraton Suites, Key West very comfortable and clean. Had a nice family photoshoot there with lots of cuddles and giggles.

What we did:

The most fun thing to do in Key West is water sports, however since we live on the lake and go boating for brunches and dinners, it didn’t excite us much. What did interest us is again a drive through the town and a nice lunch before we headed out of this live painting.

Where we ate:

We reached Key West around dinner time and since food is our second favorite “F” word after family, our search engines aka cellphones were already steaming with options.  My hubby being the biggest foodie of the family always opts for trying something new and unique but is sometimes voted out because of my intention of staying on the more tested side to please the kids.  So we came to a neutral ground by opting for Senor Frog’s, Key West for dinner and Thai Island restaurant for Lunch the next day because thai food is one of his fave foods although Meera ( our choosy middle daughter is not all crazy for it, but this time I was on Dadoo’s side) so it was a win win food scene.

Senor Frog's:

Fun as always, Senor Frog’s is one of my kids faves mainly because of its name and the colors it offers plus food is pretty decent too at a good price.  We got there very close to the time of their kitchen closing so basically said yes to pasta all the way.
They have very cute props all over the place but somehow my face and smile screamed for this one.  I got marked right away.

The next afternoon as per our agreement, we went to this place and were surprised to see how good the food was.
Hope you enjoyed the express view of our 2 fave food spots Key West.
I regret to inform you that Senor Frog has since been closed in Key West although they have many branches all around Florida with food and fun pretty similar in all.
Hope you enjoyed the overnight trip with us in Key West.

Do not grieve. Whatever you lose comes round in another form.
